East Nawalparasi. The East-West Mahendra Highway has been blocked due to landslides in Daunne hill in the middle of Bardaghat Dumkibas section under Mahendra Highway. According to Hari Poudel of Gaindakot, who was stopped at the landslide site, the landslide occurred on the highway 3 km west of Dumkibas Bazaa
According to the Area Police Office, Dumkibas, the highway has been blocked due to landslides near Khursani River in Daunne. Vehicles heading to Butwal from Narayangarh have been stopped by the police at Dumkibas while vehicles coming from Butwal to Narayangarh have been stopped at Bardaghat.
Vehicles heading west from Thumsi in Gaindakot of Mahendra Highway have been stranded in Daunne again. Police said that there was a problem due to rain in Daunne even though the landslide removal work was underway. The road in Daunne is flooded due to flooding.
